Someone just asked me if I had a blog and I immediately thought of this. It's been a long break indeed. Time to clear the dust off my blog and start afresh.
New year, new school, new beginning.
Where do I start?
Not going to talk about Orientation since it's outdated and I can't exactly find the passion to start ranting about how awesome my OG was. Was allocated to 10S62, Athena faculty. Love my faculty, but I'm not really loving my class at the moment. I will admit that I can get rather impatient when it comes to things like this. Must. Learn. How. To. Keep. An. Open-Mind.
School officially started a few weeks ago. Lectures are being conducted at supersonic speeds and I can't exactly say that I'm fine with the pace when I'm obviously not. We end lessons at 3.30PM on almost all the days, not forgetting CCA, and they expect us to finish tutorials and read ahead of lectures when we get home. Nice. This sucks because this is on a completely different level compared to last year! Grr.
What's more demoralizing is PE. Gosh. I regret not exercising during the holidays man. We had our pre-cross-country thing just 3 days ago, and it's just sad to see people whizz past you. Sheesh. To add on to that, I'm still aching from WARM-UP. Pathetic, yes?
On to a lighter note, I woke up to a pleasant surprise today!
SCNCC is officially a gold unit. I received the message from MrJo. How nice of him to be calling me Ying again. *cringes* All the blood, sweat and tears.. At least I know that they weren't put to waste! I really hope this BUC award will spur future generations of cadets into working harder because a lot of effort was put into bringing our unit up from just a bronze award back when I was a Part A.
HomeBasedLearning is driving me crazy! Oh, I just got a call from an OAC senior saying that I have pre-camp training everyday from this week onwards. Wow. Thats nice to hear. Considering the fact that I have an upcoming Math lecture test and a GP class assessment. At least I'm left with just Physics and Econs, which I can hopefully complete by tomorrow, noon. This means I have an afternoon to study.
Went shopping yesterday. It's been a long time man. Didn't know shopping could be so... FUN. HEHE. Bought clothes (3 party dresses, haha I know, super random. Not like I have the time to walk down Orchard road or anything.), stationary (Finally got my green pen.. A few zig markers for my notebook because I lost my brown one in the LT ): , and 2 foolscap pad in pink and green colour), and stuff for the Physics experiment (Raisin, Coke, Sprite, Mentos, FF, etc.). Trying to locate the raisins in NTUC was hilarious man. This experience, which I am about to elaborate on, made me realise something: MY CHINESE REALLY SUCK. Okay. Not like I didn't know about that prior to this incident, but aiya, I'm just trying to make myself sound good. HEH.
So the story of me trying to find raisins in NTUC goes like this...
Knowing that the carbonated drinks are waaaaaay easier to find, I cleverly went to pick 1.5L Sprite and Coke bottles first. I was literally hugging onto them because I had other things to hold. Anyway, I didn't know where to find the raisins so I was stumbling my way down the snacks/candy aisles. BUT, NOOO. The raisins were no where to be found. I turned left and saw this uncle unpacking Mentos and I hurriedly approached him.
"Uh, sorry, may I know where the raisins are?"
-stares blankly-
"UH EH, RAISINS? You know... Where is it?"
"Huh? Err, shen me?"
At this moment, I thought to myself: SHIT. DIE.
How would I know what raisin is in Chinese!
"HUH? OH OH, na ge yi li yi li de."
-continues to stare-
"PU TAO! YI LI YI LI PU TAO. GAN DE!"
Hahaha. Sheesh man. In the end, he led me to some other person but I spotted the raisins before reaching. So that concludes on how I found the raisins, no thanks to him. ):
